Kirsten is an associate in the Shipping and Yacht Finance Group with experience of a wide variety of transactional shipping work, with a particular emphasis on the superyacht sector. Her work includes advising on a wide range of commercial contracts (shipbuilding, design agreements, brokerage agreements) for builders, designers and owners, sale and purchase transactions, and financing work.
Kirsten also has experience of contentious shipping and yacht work, having completed a seat in the Marine and International Trade department during her training contract. She also has experience of insolvency and restructuring work, and spent time in the in-house legal team of a household name UK listed company. She has a first class degree in English Literature and History from the University of Edinburgh, and grew up near a major fishing port in the north west highlands of Scotland.
- Regularly advising builders and owners on shipbuilding contracts for a wide variety of superyachts.
- Acting for the borrower on the sale and leaseback financing of two LNG tankers via a Chinese leasing company.
- Advising owners and designers on the interior and exterior design agreements for a wide variety of superyacht projects.
- Drafting and advising on brokerage/commission agreements in respect of yachts.
