Dr. Tim Schommer

Tim co-heads the German yacht and superyacht team. He has extensive experience of representing clients in relation to all aspects of the yachting industry. He advises owners, builders, managers, lenders, insurers, brokers, designers on a range of measures from new building and refit contracts, the sale and purchase of new and secondhand yards, financing, leasing, company structures, registration, statutory compliance, and commercial management and operation through to insurance, crewing and chartering.

Over the last 15 years, Tim has handled numerous multi-million Euro yacht projects and disputes. He lectures at Bucerius Law School, and is an author of the legal column in Germany’s leading Superyacht magazine, Boote Exclusiv. He is also a member of Deutsche Yachten, the industry pool which is part of the Association of German Boat and Shipbuilders.
